James Plays Key Roll In Lancs Victory

Our own James Holland played a vital roll in Lancashire Boys’ recent dramatic victory in the Four Counties Championship at Shifnal Golf Club.

The annual competition sees the talented young Lancashire golfers compete against their counterparts from Cheshire, Nottinghamshire and Shropshire & Herefordshire.

Lancashire beat S&H 5-2, drew 3.5-3.5 with Cheshire, before triumphing 4-3 against Notts to once again came out on top – successfully retaining the title they won in 2016.

We are delighted to report that James Holland led the way for Lancashire, winning all three of his matches and earning special praise from Lancs Junior Chairman, Neil Dalton, who said “The boys came together as a team and played some outstanding golf, especially at a time when it was required in the matches against Cheshire and Nottinghamshire.

“A special mention must go to James Holland after winning all of his matches and Harvey Talarczyk, who was not well during the tournament but still won two of his matches and halved the other.

“I am immensely proud of the way boys conducted themselves throughout and their achievement in retaining the title against strong opposition.”

Congratulations to James and the rest of the Lancashire Boys team on a fine achievement!
