Diary Event

Saturday group coaching sessions - must be booked at least 2 days in advance by contacting the Pro Shop on 01704 577316. Cost is £5 per Junior.
The next sessions are 11am and 12 noon on Saturday 22nd September and 6th October. Maximum of 8 Juniors per group.

Captain's Prize Matchplay -
Harry Begg beat Mike Elliott by 3 and 2 in the Final

Summer Foursomes -
Tom Turner and Paul Stanley beat Gary and Ryan Dwyer

Ladies -
There have been two Matchplay Knockout tournaments through the summer, with Beverley Bond and Pauline Rooney reaching the Final of both events - congratulations to both players. Pauline Rooney won both of the Finals over the past week.

- Please note on Sunday mornings that a member may only sign in one guest before 12.30pm. If you wish to bring two or more guests on a Sunday it must be in the afternoon.

- Ryder Cup weekend – no special golfing events have been planned as the Ryder Cup, being in France, will be played during our normal daytime and many of you will be watching it on TV.
Saturday 29th September - Men's Fourball Betterball competition, tee times from 7.15am.
Sunday 30th September - no competitions, book your golf as normal.
The Clubhouse will be open with full TV coverage and food available on all days.

- Sunday 14 October – S&A hosts the SDGA Mixed Regional Event. This is a Shotgun Start at 12.30pm. Please be aware that members can play on the Sunday morning but the course must be CLEAR by 12.15pm. You are likely to be able to play less than 18 holes on this day. The 1st tee will be open for booking from 7.45am. 7th tee will be from 8.00am to 8.50am.

Additional Sunday Stablefords have been added for the rest of the season to help 6 Day Members and those who cannot play on a Saturday on any week.

Midweek competition dates - 3rd October (Medal)

Thursday 27th September - Medal and 18 Hole Blue Stableford
Thursday 4th October - Lady Captain's Charity Day - team of 3, 18 holes or 10 holes - best 2 scores each hole, all 3 scores to count on hole 10.

Signing up for Ladies competitions will be online from midday 8 days ahead. Where there is also a 9 hole comp, a few tee times will be reserved for 9 hole players. You should be able to see these on the BRS booking page.

Mixed Competition - Sunday 23rd September
Sign-up in the Pro Shop, the format is Pairs Greensomes Stableford

Mixed Competition - Sunday 7th October
Team of 4, best 2 scores to count

SENIOR/JUNIOR GREENSOMES on Sunday 21st October - you can sign up now for this. The event has struggled to attract support in recent years so please do your best to play.

Club competitions normally involve 18 holes Yellow or Blue Tee comps plus a 9 hole Blue Tee Stableford. Sign in with £1 entry fee on the day. Please book in advance by phoning the Pro Shop on 01704 577316. 2019 Junior competitions will start from 2.00pm rather than 2.30pm.

As in the past, we are reintroducing the service to sell unwanted clubs. They MUST be less than 5 years old, Ping, Callaway, TaylorMade or Titleist, wedges, drivers, fairways, putters, irons and in good condition. They will be sold through the Pro Shop or on Ebay for you and proceeds go on to your account, less postage costs.

Two lessons on the range and one on course 6 hole playing lesson - £95
Group lesson – form your own group of 2, 3 or 4 players - 9.30am to 3pm including long game, short game, bunkers, putting and 6 holes on the course. £50 per person for 2 or £35 per person for 3 or 4 players. Covering technique, strategy, practice drills, course management, etc.

- Full sets of demo irons by Titleist, the new AP1, AP2 and AP3 models.
- Demo irons in the new TaylorMade ranges including the M3 and M4 iron., plus M3 and M4 drivers to try.

- A complete list of all GUR areas is on noticeboards around the Clubhouse.
- BUGGY RULES - please keep buggies to paths and fairways only. If you are using a buggy in a competition you should have a medical note. Other players are not allowed to ride in the buggy or have their clubs carried by the buggy unless they also have a medical note.
