Visitors Information

Visitors & Members Guests are offered a warm welcome throughout the year.

At S&A we regularly welcome golfers from across the world, all of whom are keen to take on our famous Championship links which has twice played host to the Ryder Cup, arguably the biggest event in golf.

The course, winding its way amongst sand hills and dunes, is regularly ranked amongst the UK’s Top 100 and is the perfect venue for your next day out, or perhaps as a fine addition to a longer trip taking in some of the Open Championship venues on England’s Golf Coast.

Visitor Facilities

The modern clubhouse has enhanced facilities that complement the course magnificently and combine to provide members, visitors and guests with pleasant and attractive surroundings.

Accommodation

With close proximity to both Liverpool and Manchester and excellent transport links as well as various parking facilities, Southport makes the ideal escape. Local Accommodation

All potential visitors are reminded that our course is a true Championship links, and therefore it is not always suitable for inexperienced golfers. If you have not yet reached this level, we offer various lesson packages and our new Practice Ground Membership to help you get there.

“Fantastic links golf course right beside Royal Birkdale and Hillside. The best conditions I've experienced in March. The greens were really good. A true challenge. Will definately come back.”

“Great links course, very tough for an average golfer especially in the wind which was 30mph +. Enjoyed the round and great company with two members . Definitely a day to remember, if not for the golf!”

“Links golf at its best. Fantastically designed link course as it should be. Not too long and not too difficult, just fun. We had that in bright sunshine, as usual in England!”
